When I realized how long it had been since I shared my thoughts with you I said to myself, “you had better sit down for a minute and write or people will forget about your blog and not even read it.  After my health problem it seems as though my priorities have changed.  There have always been things that I wanted to do like, finish the books I was writing, or even, the ones I was reading.  I love to travel and I am always wanting to go somewhere or see someone.  Now it seems that time is flying by so quickly that I am always in a rush to get things done.  It is almost like I am in a race with time and I know which one of us will win.

At the Kentucky Artisans at the Saddle Factory shop where I have some of my wares people are asking for Christmas items to buy.  We haven’t even celebrated Halloween yet.  I have been making little items on the lathe for Christmas.  I downloaded a bunch of Christmas music and played it in the shop to get myself in the mood._DSC0020 copy  Here are some of the items I have made.  The little snowmen and tree are about 4.5″ tall.   I also made these magnets that I am putting string on so they can either be put _DSC0050 copy_edited-1

on the refrigerator or hung on a tree.  I have made a small wreath using bamboo but, it isn’t finished yet.  Even with the music it is hard to get in the mood for making Christmas items.  It isn’t time yet.

Talking about time what is it anyway?  People say “it’s time” or “I don’t have time” or “we had such a good time”.  We use it all the time but, what is it?  The dictionary says time is the continuing and limitless progress of existence and events in the past, present and future.  It doesn’t belong to us, we belong to it.  It just is and always has been.  We are allowed a small portion of it and then we are gone but, time remains.  We aren’t all given the same amount of time so, we better make the most of it.  If there is somewhere you want to go, then go.  If there is someone you want to see, go see them.  Don’t say “I’ll do that when I have time,  you have the time now and you are using it up by waiting.  Someone once said, “Time waits for no one.”

Okay, this is getting pretty deep so I’ll stop.  You won’t want to come by and spend “time” with me.  I will leave you with this thought today:  The most wasted day is that on which we have not laughed. –Chamfort.  All I have to do is look into the mirror and I laugh.  I say, “who in the world is that old woman looking at me?” Have a great day,  Melanie
